Women In Business

Season 1 Episode: 6
When you get a seat at the table, ask for two: Clare Gibellini on 'being seen'.
Published:

In this episode Clare talks about her journey to 'being seen', and what she has in the pipework with her new venture. She has a clear strategy to add voices to hers "If I get a seat at a table, I ask for a spare so that someone can come along and be part of it too'. Clare is a woman of many talents who is 'still working out' how to make her contribution to the world. Many years ago she decided that becoming involved, emersed really, was the key to understanding, and with understanding change can be effectively facilitated.

On her journey to discover how decisions and policies that impact disabled people are made, she is accruing an ever-increasing list of 'places at tables' including Co-Chair of the Oversight Council for Australia's National Autism Strategy, a Member of the Ministerial Advisory Council On Disability and an Australian representative at the 15th and 16th Session of the Conference of Governments to the Convention on the Rights of Disabled people (speaking to the General Assembly on behalf of Australia at the 16th Session in June 2023). In addition to these 'seats' Clare is also a Board Director, TEDx speaker, mother, wife, mad Chicken Lady, and proudly disabled...
